Counselling is a process whereby individuals are encouraged to explore difficulties that they may have. The individual is supported by a Counsellor to progress through and beyond their difficulties.

Sr. Gerardine (Ger) Curran, fcJ is the FCJ Centre's resident Counsellor. In the privacy of her office, Ger will meet with anyone needing assistance to explore a difficulty, distress, dissatisfaction with life or the lost sense of direction and purpose. She does not give advice or direct a client to take a particular course of action, but rather encourages the client to find their own way to cope with their pressing difficulty. The focus is always the well-being of the client.

Sessions may be explored on a one-to-one basis or in a group setting. An Eclectic approach, underpinned by person centre approach, is used which is client centred, empathic and non-judgemental.
